While the British army was stationed in India, Indian Club exercises became a part of the military PT (physical training) regimen.
Indian Clubs have been around for centuries as a primary training implement for the military and for combat athletes; especially, the Indian wrestlers.
What’s amazing is that Indian Club exercises had been used for such a long time throughout history as ’conventional’ training methods.
In 1861, an American fitness enthusiast and businessman by the name of Sim D. Kehoe discovered the phenomenon of Indian-club swinging while visiting England. He was so impressed by such training methods he began to produce and sell clubs on the American market in 1862.
Though it was profitable for him, the use of such implements began fading as the mid 1900’s approached.
By the late 1990’s Indian Clubs were re-introduced as ’ unconventional’ fitness implements and by 2010,
Whether conventional or unconventional, exercise with 100% effort and get 100% results regardless of what implement you used.
