Cinnamon has gotten a lot of positive attention in recent years for its benefits in regulating blood sugar.
Though, it has tremendous value there is one problem and it can be a big problem.
Often atricles on the net will mention to sprikle a little here and little there. The problem with this method is that it takes much more than a few sprinkles to regulate blood sugar and this is where the problem lays.
To receive maximum benefits one would have to use very large amounts of cinnamon regularly and this can be an issue.
Cinnamon contains a toxic compound called coumarin, which can damage the liver over an extended period of time. There’s some indication this ingredient can cause cancer, though, not all the data is in on this particular issue.
The bottom line is to use comfortable amounts and cycle the use of cinnamon rather than ingesting it 24/7. It not only will help with blood sugar, it will also alkalize the blood, warming the body and aid in keeping parasites out of your intestinal tract.
Most of all it taste really good in fall & winter recipes.
