Everyone, including athletes and non athletes, male and female need to track their hormone levels on a regular basis. Whether you’re 25 or 65, hormones control how you act, how you think and above all how your body functions as a whole.
We are exposed to hormone disruptors everyday through consumption of non organic food, through our water supply, air pollution, toxins in our home, everyday cleaning products, work related chemicals and even our furniture we sit and sleep on everyday.
We need to stay on top of our health. For optimum fitness, athletic performance and healthy living, our hormones control it all.
Here are the hormones that need to be checked on a regular basis:
Testosterone—Free and total hormone count.
DHT
Estradiol
PSA—Men only (there’s controversy about this one whether it’s accurate or not.
SBGH
Thyroid---TSH, total T4, free T4, total T3, free T3, T3 uptake and thyroid
antibodies (TPO & anti-thyoglobulin)
IGF-1
DHEA—Saliva testing.
Cortisol—Saliva resting
