Alpine Slicing and Cheese Conversion Company is voluntarily recalling “Edelweiss Creamery Premium Fondue Blend” because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

Why can these companies get away with a “voluntary recall” while the FDA, local health dept. services, law enforcement agencies and county D.A.’s offices spend millions to raid, arrest and imprison “legal” raw milk providers?
The worst part is that nearly all the raw milk providers are found not to have any contaminated milk!
We should have the right to choose what we want to eat, drink and be merry. Our health is at risk with conventional foods and if we want to maximize our strength gains and well being, raw foods need to be a part of our lifestyle.
